Jacques’s passion for travel, coupled with his love for people and animals, landed him his dream job twelve years ago when he began his career as a Tour guide. Since then, all who travel with him have been the happy beneficiaries of the cheerful travel-induced lust for life that drives him.
A self-confessed tree hugger, birder, history buff and all-round oddball bohemian, Jacques takes his joy in life from sharing his passion with his tourists and friends.
He makes his home in the Mother City – Cape Town – but he is just as comfy in a hut in Zambia, snorkeling in Mozambique or just kickin’ it with the locals from Namibia to Botswana, Zimbabwe to Lesotho or hanging with his awesome Swazi friends in the kingdom of Eswatini.
Jacques speaks Afrikaans and English and is fast becoming fluent in German.

“Aangenamekennis” is the Afrikaans way of saying “pleased to meet you”, and of course we are! My name is Johan Noppe, I believe I am already 12-14 Generations in Southern Africa. I was born 1974-12-01 in Zimbabwe(Then Rhodesia) and moved with his parents to South Africa in 1981. As youngster I loved the outdoors and farm life. I always dreamed to have my own farm one day. As I grew older my interest for wildlife grew and I had since junior (Primary) school learnt about animals and birds. When I finished his school I went on to serve 1 year “compulsory”(I actually volunteered) military service. Then entered into University Pretoria for BA Physical training, because my sport for 17yrs was Judo. This was not for me I realised. I learned about tourism at a part time job where I was working for a few years, as fitness instructor at a health club. I decided as a means to get to go on safaris and still have the balance of city life with family I enrolled for a 3 years Tourism and travel practice coarse with Vaal Triangle Technicon. I started working for Guesthouses and doing Shuttle services for guesthouses and got an opportunity to work for Wilro Tours. Within a few months I qualified a tour guide for Gauteng Province. I then pursued a dream to travel abroad on Working holiday Visa in the UK and manage to save money and travel. After 2 years I was back got married and had to re-qualify as tour-guide due to changes in the legislation. Today I am a National Tour guide for 9 provinces in South Africa and have been working for variety of Operators serving their guest to the best of my ability. Have conducted tours throughout South Africa, Swaziland, Lesotho, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe. I am a father of 2 daughters (14 & 11) and my only problem with my career is that I love it too much. Looking forward to being of Service for you.
