DAY 1 JOHANNESBURG

Arrive any time and enjoy optional local excursions.
Meet your Tour Guide in the lobby for a welcome meeting and to mingle with your fellow travelers in the evening.

DAY 2 Kruger National Park Area

We kick off our tour with a trip through the Mpumalanga Panorama Route.
Here we find numerous spectacular views as we meander past the dramatic beauty of Three Rondavels, Wonder View and the mesmerising Bourke’s Luck Potholes.

DAY 3 Kruger National Park Area

We enjoy a full day’s game drive in our air-conditioned or open-top game-drive vehicle.
Established in 1898 the Kruger National Park needs little, if any, introduction.
The Park has an area of around 19 485 kilometres2 (7523 Miles2) and is about 320 kilometres (200 Miles) long and 40 to 80 km (25 to 50 miles) wide.
No fewer than six rivers traverse the park, and it has an absolute abundance of vegetation and wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffalo, rhinos, zebras, impalas, wildebeest and hundreds of species of birds.
Who will be the first to spot the King of the Jungle?

DAY 4 Maputo

We settle in for a lazy long drive to colorful Maputo, the capital city of Mozambique.
Later in the afternoon we mingle with the locals as we enjoy a laid-back sunset stroll on the Maputo promenade overlooking the bay.

DAY 5 Maputo

Today we explore the city of Maputo.
After four centuries under the yoke of colonial rule, Maputo, today, is a free, vibrant, multiethnic city with loads of character, great people and superb photo opportunities.
We immerse ourselves in the colonial history and architecture of this fascinating African concrete jungle as we befriend smiling locals, sample delicious food and, in the late afternoon, we enjoy a water taxi to the suburb of Katembe for sundowners.

DAY 6 Tofu Beach

We say goodbye to the hustle-and-bustle of African city life as we begin our cruise north to Inhambane, also known as Terra de Boa Gente (Land of Good People).
After we settle in at Tofu Beach we grab some ice-cold local beers, we dip our toes in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean and we just take it easy.

DAY 7 Tofu Beach

Today we continue to take it easy as we roam about freely.
Explore the beach, make some friends, and spend the day snorkeling or even take a SCUBA-diving trip in search of Manta Rays and Whale Sharks (optional).

DAY 8 Vilanculos (Vilankulo)

Late afternoon we arrive at the Mozambican capital of water sports – Vilanculos!
After a useful orientation-drive through town we settle in at Leopoldina’s where, later this evening, we will have the opportunity to mingle with the locals at our “Home Stay”.
Here we will blend in and become part of normal life in Vilankulos.
We will learn fun words in the local language as we tuck into the authentically Mozambican fare that has made Leopoldina’s famous.
We end the day by learning some cool dance steps from our hosts.

DAY 9 Bazaruto Archipelago

Enjoy a traditional Dhow (sailboat) experience while exploring this amazing part of the Mozambican coastline.
We will do some Island-hopping in-between snorkeling excursions and conquering the dunes.
Enjoy a fun lunch on the boat specially prepared by the crew members.

DAY 10 Vilanculos area

Today we have the rare opportunity to meet some Bottle-nose Dolphins. Let’s hope they come up to the boat to say hello!
We arrive back on the mainland in the afternoon in time for another Mozambican evening of food, fun and festivities and end our Vilanculos adventure in style.

DAY 11 Buffalo Camp

After a relaxed morning we go for some horse-riding on the beach! (Optional)
In the afternoon we head north to cross the Save river. Tonight, is just a stop over night before crossing into Zimbabwe the next morning.

DAY 12 Chimoio

A long day’s drive (approx. 7 hrs for 299km) will take us to the province of Manica.
En-route to our overnight stop we break for a short hike to stretch the legs a bit.

DAY 13 Masvingo Area – Zimbabwe

After an early African breakfast we explore a civil-war museum before we cross the border from Mozambique into Zimbabwe.
We now drive towards the town of Masvingo and settle in next to Lake Mutirikwi (formerly Lake Kyle).
Mutirikwi Lake (the largest inland, man-made lake in Zimbabwe) is fed by six rivers from almost every side.
Masvingo was founded in 1890 and was formerly known as Fort Victoria – named after Queen Victoria of Great Britain.
Tonight we stay in a beautiful colonial style lush garden lake view gem.

DAY 14 Matobo Hills

After breakfast a local guide takes us on a tour of the mysterious African Iron-Age Great Zimbabwe Ruins that were constructed between the 11th and 15th centuries.
We continue to make our way toward the Matobo Hills – a UNESCO world heritage site.
Matobo Hills covers about 3000 km² (1158mi²) of Matabeleland South Province and is steeped in history.
Not to be missed.

DAY 15 Matobo Hills

After a quiet morning we will be experiencing an exciting Rhino Walk in the afternoon.
Don’t miss your chance to hang out with these amazing, yet cruelly threatened, animals.

DAY 16 Hwange National Park Area

Today we head further north to settle in at the edge of the Hwange Park where you can join a late-afternoon game drive (optional).
Alternatively we can simply relax, with our feet in the swimming pool.
Within viewing distance is a watering-hole where we can see various animals quench their thirst at the end of the day.

DAY 17 Victoria Falls

This spectacular waterfall is halfway along the course of the mighty Zambesi River, close to the Zambian border.
Twice as wide and twice as deep as Niagara, Victoria Falls is a sight to behold.
Also explore the town and investigate the many activities such as helicopter flights over the falls, game drives, bridge tours and river rafting.
Plan your activities and re-join the group for a last unforgettable dinner together.
