DAY 1 Johannesburg
On arrival a ready transfer whisks us to our hotel where we settle in and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Meet your Tour Guide in the lobby for a welcome meeting and to mingle with your fellow travelers in the evening.

DAY 2 Chobe National Park
We return to OR Tambo International Airport for our flight to Kasane, Botswana – the gateway to Chobe National Park – “Land of the Giants”.
Here, in the heart of the African Bush, we will be treated to an abundance of African wildlife and a great variety of birds.
We board a pleasant game cruise, on the Chobe River, before returning to the lodge for a relaxed dinner.

DAY 3 Chobe National Park
This morning we experience the wild grandeur of the Chobe National Park on an open-vehicle game drive.
Chobe is home to the largest elephant population in the world as well as many other fascinating species of animals, making it a favourite of wildlife photographers from all over the world.
Late in the afternoon, we return to the river for a sunset game cruise and a festive on-board dinner.

DAY 4 Victoria Falls
Today we cross the border from Botswana into Zimbabwe, on our way to the legendary Victoria Falls – “The Smoke That Thunders”.
We spend the afternoon at leisure, perhaps relaxing and watching the wildlife near the lodge.
This evening we enjoy a group dinner at the famous “Boma” – “Place of Eating”.

DAY 5 Victoria Falls
Twice as wide and twice as deep as the Niagra Falls, today we are in for a treat as we visit the impressive Vic Falls.
Board the unforgettable ‘Flight of the Angels’ helicopter tour this morning and marvel at the majestic views of the falls, and the Zambezi River, from the air.
In the evening we take to the upper Zambezi on a sunset cruise. Spot the hippos while sipping on a glass of Chardonay.

DAY 6 Cape Town
Today we fly from Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe to the Mother City – Cape Town, South Africa!
We settle in at the lovely Portswood hotel where we can spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure or we could go on a shopping spree at the vibrant Waterfront.

DAY 7 Cape Town
Today we explore the fascinating city of Cape Town!
We begin with a trip to the notorious Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela and other anti-apartheid liberation heroes were imprisoned during the infamous Apartheid years.
We also hop aboard the famous Cape Town Cable Car to the summit of Table Mountain for some unforgettable views Cape Town City, the Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.

DAY 8 Cape Town
Today we enjoy a full day of exploring along the spectacular Cape Peninsula, as we follow the coast down to the historical Cape of Good Hope where the warm Mozambique-Agulhas current, coming from the Indian Ocean, clashes with the cool Benguela current of the Antarctic.
This striking part of the coastline was first spotted in 1488, by Portuguese explorer Bartolomeu Dias, who named it “Cabo Tormentoso” or the “Cape of Storms.” Later it was re-christened to “Kaap de Goede Hoop” or “Cape of Good Hope”
We also visit the stunning beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay; we gaze at the peaks of the Twelve Apostles, we visit a delightful penguin colony and we visit the famous wineries of Constantia.

DAY 9 Franschhoek
Before heading to the gorgeous Protea Hotel for check-in we spend a little time exploring Franschhoek and its charming street culture.
This grand old town is a delightful fusion of wine, food, history, art and even sport – many of South Africa’s Rugby legends hail from Franschhoek.

DAY 10 Franschhoek
Today we enjoy a lovely day in the exquisite wine regions of Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Paarl.
Paarl is known as the birthplace of the Afrikaans language.
Not unlike English, Afrikaans developed via an arduous route of a mingling of various European languages, most notably German, French, Dutch, until it was birthed as a fully-fledged language that is spoken by millions of South Africans.
We also visit two local wineries for wine tastings; enjoy a cellar tour and a group lunch overlooking the sun-soaked vineyards.

DAY 11 Oudtshoorn
Today we bid the wine regions farewell and we head to the idyllic coastal town of Hermanus.
Hermanus is recognized as one of the best whale watching destinations in the country and we will take an exciting cruise to view the Southern Right Whales.
These majestic animals, found between the Southern Hemisphere and Antarctica, have, in recent years, become an endangered species.
From Hermanus we continue on to Oudtshoorn via the magnificent Garden Route.

DAY 12 Oudtshoorn
At the foothills of the Swartberg (“Black Mountain”), just outside Oudtshoorn, we find the mystery of the labyrinthine Cango Caves, forged over many millennia in Precambrian limestone.
Start the day by exploring this natural wonder and then go have lunch on an actual working ostrich farm!

DAY 13 Knysna
Today we depart for gorgeous Knysna (pronounced “ˈ/naɪznə/”), a stunning little town in the heart of the beautiful Garden Route.
Knysna is situated on a beautiful lagoon and surrounded by an ancient forest.
We’ll join a lazy boat cruise and have lunch with the wild beauty of the ominous-looking Knysna Heads as our backdrop.

DAY 14 Knysna
Today we continue to explore the delights of the Knysna area, including the Tsitsikamma National Park and the famous Storms River Suspension Bridge – the highest bungee-bridge in the world.
We also visit the famed “Birds of Eden”.
Lose yourself in this enormous free-flight aviary and bird sanctuary – the largest in the world.

DAY 15 Kruger National Park
Today we fly from George to the world-famous Kruger National Park’s International Airport where we transfer to the relaxing and scenic Muluwa Lodge.
Unpack and enjoy being up close and personal with the resident giraffes, wildebeest and impalas before spending the evening with your hosts.

DAY 16 Kruger National Park
Today we enjoy the full splendor of this awesome wildlife park.
Established in 1898 the Kruger National Park needs little, if any, introduction.
The Park has an area of around 19 485 kilometres2 (7523 Miles2) and is about 320 kilometres (200 Miles) long and 40 to 80 km (25 to 50 miles) wide.
No fewer than six rivers traverse the park and it has an absolute abundance of vegetation and wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffalo, rhino’s, zebras, impalas, wildebeest and hundreds of species of birds.

DAY 17 Karongwe Private Game Reserve
Following the Panorama Route, today, we visit some superb highlights including the Three Rondavels, the Bourke’s Luck Potholes and a spectacular region known as God’s Window.
After checking in to our private game lodge, we enjoy a late-afternoon open vehicle game drive.

DAY 18 Karongwe Private Game Reserve
We enjoy an early-morning open vehicle game drive before returning to the lodge for a well-deserved brunch and some leisure time.
Spend the day exploring the many different sections of the reserve.
In the afternoon there is another opportunity to enjoy sundowners on our penultimate open vehicle game drive where, hopefully, we will complete our checklist of the Big Five!

DAY 19 Johannesburg
We sneak in one last game drive this morning before returning to the lodge for our last breakfast together.
An airport transfer to Hoedspruit airport will arrive in time for homeward flights via Johannesburg.
